COLLINSVILLE, IL (StLouisRestaurantReview) Heritage Sports Bar & Grill (HSB) opened earlier this summer with overwhelming community support.  In their renovated historical building, they offer an atmosphere that is unparalleled by most bars and grills in the community.  The attention to detail illustrates a significant amount of ownership pride and dedication to the project.

The owners of Heritage Bar & Grill are Devon Whitsell and Max Tracy.  Whitsell owns Bann Thai Restaurant in Edwardsville, which has been a massive success for him and his family for several years.  St. Louis Restaurant Review published a “restaurant review” on May 15, 2025.  Tracy has previous restaurant management experience, and their friendship, combined with that of others, creates a strong management team that ensures the establishment’s success.

The menu offers some familiar items that have been elevated to a new level of perfection, made with the finest ingredients.  It features some exclusive items that can only be found at HSB.  Quality food, service, and atmosphere appear to be their top priorities.

Additionally, it offers a fully stocked bar featuring top-shelf liquors, allowing you to create some of the best mixed drinks in the area.  The outside bar creates additional space for those who love the outdoors, and slot machines are on the way, pending the receipt of a gaming license.

We have come to know the owners and have a significant amount of faith in this concept and team, which has already begun with a successful start, hitting numbers they only dreamed of a few months ago.  We were the first publication to announce their opening, followed by their first event, the Smokin’ on Main event, held on July 26th and 27th.  After interviewing both owners/managers, we congratulate them both and wish them the best.  We will do our best to help inform and educate the community, increasing their visibility online and socially.

It is encouraging to meet restaurants that are flourishing during this social and industry-changing moment.  While many restaurants struggle to hire staff and are closing their doors, this team appears to have established the credibility to work around the typical industry problems plaguing the restaurant sector, as well as other sectors.

Collinsville, Illinois, is a welcoming city situated just east of St. Louis, renowned for its historic charm and vibrant community.  The downtown area boasts classic brick buildings, locally owned shops, and cozy restaurants, all of which combine to create a walkable and inviting atmosphere.  Visitors enjoy unique boutiques, antique stores, and popular events, such as the Italian Fest and the Horseradish Festival, which draw crowds from across the region.  With its rich history and strong sense of community, downtown Collinsville blends small-town warmth with a growing cultural and business presence, making it a destination for both residents and travelers exploring southwestern Illinois.

The next community event is the Italian Fest, the Largest Festival in the St. Louis Bi-State area devoted to all things Italian, which will be held on September 19th and 20th, 2025.  HSB will participate in the event.  Their specials and events will be announced soon.

HSB has picked an excellent community for its restaurant venture.  If you live in St. Louis city, it makes for a great afternoon getaway.
