On September 4, 2026, just after 9pm, District 6 officers responded to a shooting at St. Louis Fish and Chicken in the 5000 block of Goodfellow. When officers arrived, they located 23-year-old Reginald Holmes of St. Louis County, not conscious and not breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. Holmes died at the scene. Homicide Detectives were requested and initiated their investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that a group of young males attempted to rob Holmes of his belongings; however, he resisted.
